Nepal Covid-19 tally: 270 new cases, 302 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 915,979 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 270 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,829 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 242 returned positive. Likewise, 2,617 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 28 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.09 per cent of the PCR and 1.03 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.58 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,278 active cases across the country. Of them, 391 are hospitalised, 175 in intensive care units and 33 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 302 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 801,722 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,518 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 196,583 people were vaccinated today.
