Nepal Covid-19 tally: 265 new cases, 357 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 918,449 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 265 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,114 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 238 returned positive. Likewise, 1,503 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 27 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.34 per cent of the PCR and 1.79 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.18 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,386 active cases across the country. Of them, 324 are hospitalised, 114 in intensive care units and 32 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 357 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were reported.

Of the total cases so far, 804,901 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,543 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 106,610 people were vaccinated today.
