Nepal Covid-19 tally: 246 new cases, 347 recoveries, ZERO deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 3

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 917,741 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 246 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,400 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 223 returned positive. Likewise, 1,436 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 23 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.48 per cent of the PCR and 1.60 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.13 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,921 active cases across the country. Of them, 342 are hospitalised, 107 in intensive care units and 34 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 347 people have achieved recovery whereas ZERO deaths were reported.

Of the total cases so far, 803,716 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,535 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 175,567 people were vaccinated today.
