Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,364 new cases, 3,038 recoveries, 17 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 29

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 164,718 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,364 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,615 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 9,769 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 419,064 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 38,952 cases are active currently. Among them, 31,898 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 304 are in intensive care units and 76 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 124,862 people have achieved recovery whereas 904 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,038 people have been discharged whereas 17 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 75.8 per cent.

Of 77 districts of Nepal, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi, and Kailali have more than 500 active cases each. Mustang does not have any active case.

Over 2,600 people are quarantined across the country.
