Nepal Covid-19 tally: 236 new cases, 307 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 919,750 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry said 236 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,672 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 194 returned positive. Likewise, 3,506 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 42 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.42 per cent of the PCR and 1.19 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.57 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,883 active cases across the country. Of them, 277 are hospitalised, 112 in intensive care units and 27 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 307 people have achieved recovery whereas one death was reported.

Of the total cases so far, 806,544 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,553 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.9 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 266,988 people were vaccinated today.
