Nepal Covid-19 tally: 211 new cases, 329 recoveries, 2 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, December 9

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 919,255 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 211 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,018 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 197 returned positive. Likewise, 1,433 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 14 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.45 per cent of the PCR and 0.97 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 2.32 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,105 active cases across the country. Of them, 272 are hospitalised, 121 in intensive care units and 30 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 329 people have achieved recovery whereas two deaths were reported.

Of the total cases so far, 805,900 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,549 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 337,172 people were vaccinated today.
