Nepal Covid-19 tally: 205 new cases, 436 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 918,184 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 205 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,995 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 200 returned positive. Likewise, 2,752 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 5 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.50 per cent of the PCR and 0.18 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.90 per cent.

As of today, there are 6,507 active cases across the country. Of them, 344 are hospitalised, 107 in intensive care units and 28 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 436 people have achieved recovery whereas one death was reported.

Of the total cases so far, 804,544 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,541 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.8 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 57,930 people were vaccinated today.
