Nepal Covid-19 tally: 194 new cases, 348 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,117,328 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 194 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 3,638 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 74 returned positive. Likewise, 2,753 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 120 tested positive.

Of total tests, 2.03 per cent of the PCR and 4.35 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.03 per cent.

As of today, there are 5,875 active cases across the country. Of them, 130 are hospitalised, 42 in intensive care units and 5 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 348 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death today.

Of the total cases so far, 959,817 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,949 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98.2 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.

Meanwhile, 203,625 people were vaccinated today.
