Motorola Moto E40, a budget smartphone, an addition to Motorola’s E series has been released in Nepal. It was released in October last year, but it made its way here only now.

In the price range Motorola Moto E40 is being offered, it provides some decent features for the users. It has a high refresh rate display and a higher resolution camera sensor. It offers dual security and has additional buttons to ease the access for the users. It also offers a good battery backup and has a water-repellent design.

Design and display

Motorola Moto E40 has a simple design. The phone has a glass front with a plastic frame and a plastic back build. The back of the phone has a textured finish which adds a distinct feel to the phone. The back panel also houses a vertical camera setup and a fingerprint sensor which has the company’s branding on it.

Similarly, the left side of the phone features a card slot while on the right side is the power button, volume button and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The phone’s bottom side has a charging port and a speaker while there is a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.

With an IP52 water repellent design, Motorola Moto E40 weighs 198 grams and is 9.1 mm thick. It is available in carbon grey and pink clay colour options.

On the front is a 6.5-inch punch hole IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720*1,600 pixels. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate which can provide a smoother looking motion to the user.

Motorola Moto E40 houses a triple camera sensor on the back along with an LED flash. The main 48MP camera is housed together with a couple of 2MP depth and macro sensors. On the front is an 8MP selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0.

The camera features on the phone include portrait mode, photo, video, panorama, face beauty, HDR, night vision, macro vision, pro mode, high-res zoom and Google Lens integration. For the video, the cameras on both ends can record 1080p resolution at 30fps.

Performance and storage

Motorola Moto E40 runs on Android 11. The phone is powered by Unisoc T700 (12nm) chipset and Mali-G52 handles the graphics. The phone currently is only available in a single variant of 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.

Battery life, connectivity and others

Motorola Moto E40 gets its power from a 5,000 mAh non-removable li-po battery. This power can provide up to 76 hours of music, 14 hours of videos and up to 10 hours of web browsing. The battery can be charged with a 10W charger which comes in the box.

The phone supports dual sims for cellular connectivity and also supports dual-band wifi for internet connectivity. There is a Bluetooth 5 feature on the phone for wireless connectivity with other devices while the phone uses USB Type-C 2.0 cable for charging and wired connectivity.

For audio, Motorola Moto E40 features a single speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
