Tilottama investment summit: Over Rs 50 billion is expected to pour in

Tilottama municipality in Rupandehi district is organising an investment summit on September 26 and will have representations from federal, state and local tiers of governments, private sector, foreign investors and thematic experts.

Tilottama mayor Basudev Ghimire shares matters related to the municipality’s development priorities, investment goals and potentials would be discussed during the summit. He informs that the municipality is making preparations to present and discuss 22 projects focusing on diverse sectors including agriculture, tourism, industry, and infrastructure.

Ghimire shares the summit is organised to gather investment required to accomplish actions laid out in the five-year integrated urban development plan and 15-year strategic plan of the municipality. The municipality has put forward only 22 projects and is expecting to bring in investment of over Rs 50 billion from the summit.

Three AIGs transferred

The government has transferred three AIGs of the Nepal Police. A meeting of the cabinet on Tuesday evening made the decision to transfer them. AIG Pushkar Karki has been transferred to the Crime Investigation Department at the Police Headquarters from the Police Training Academy. Likewise, AIG Dhiru Basnet has been sent to Human Resources and Administration Department from the Crime Investigation Department. AIG Thule Rai has been transferred to Police Training Academy from the Human Resources and Administration Department.

Shortage of meat unlikely during festival, says govt

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development says that people will not have to face a scarcity of meat during the festive season. The ministry said that it is supplying around 1,000 goats for the festival in Kathmandu alone.

After the government put a ban on the import of goats, there were fears of a shortage. However, stakeholders have assured the government that there will not be a shortage during the festival.

Three arrested in possession of tiger hide

Police have arrested three persons in possession of tiger hide in Chitwan. The arrested are Chiranjibi Sen Thakuri from Butwal, Chum Bahadur Rana from Palpa and Him Gauchan from Baglung. DSP Ek Narayan Koirala informed that the three were arrested from Pulchok in Bharatpur Municipality on Wednesday night. The police found tiger teeth along with three tiger hides from the three.

Woman gives birth to quadruplets

A woman has given birth to four children at Kathmandu Medical College on Wednesday. Twenty-seven-year-old Khagitra Shahi has given birth to three boys and one girl. Of the quadruplets, the hospital informed that three are healthy while one is being kept under observation. Birth of quadruplets is a rarity.

23 cow’s death: Govt committee submits report to Home Minister

The government-formed committee to investigate the death of 23 cows has submitted its report to Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. According to the Home Ministry, the committee has found a few people responsible for the death of the animals and has asked for action against them. Minister Thapa said that action will be taken against those responsible for the death of Nepal’s national animal.
