Biratnagar, May 29
A man committed suicide, reportedly after killing his mother, in Kakum of Belbari municipality of Morang on Thursday.
When the family was having lunch yesterday, Jeevan Limbu, got into a scuffle with his mother. An enraged Limbu then hurled a brick on the woman, killing her on the spot, according to police.
Then, Karki came out of the house and tried to slit his throat with a sickle. Failing, he went to a neighbour’s kitchen and used a knife instead.
Locals had informed the police about the incident after around two hours. Karki was alive till then, but died after a few minutes he was taken to the Nobel Community Hospital in Belbari.
It has been learned that the son was a drug addict and he used to quarrel with his parents too often. Just on Wednesday, he had tried to set his own house on fire, and police had detained him for a few hours.
