Biratnagar, November 16
One man died during a fight ensued amidst a birthday party in Koyalpur, Budhiganga rural municipality-6 of the Morang district, on Monday.
DSP Deepak Shrestha of the District Police Office says Rijan Dahal (26), a resident of Pakhribas, Dhankuta, died after being attacked by a gang of five people yesterday. The attackers were not invited to the party.
Seriously injured in the khukuri attack, Dahal was taken to the Birat Medical College, but he breathed his last during treatment at around 9:30 pm yesterday.
Two other persons–Nanu Limbu of Budhiganga, Morang, and Kamal Thapa of Debrebas, Dhankuta–have sustained injuries in the incident.
The victim Dahal and injured Thapa used to live in Khanar, Itahari-13 of the neighbouring Sunsari district, on rent and work at Reliance Spinning Industry.
The alleged attackers, including the mastermind Dhan Bahadur Tamang, a resident of Budhiganga-6, are on the run. Police have launched a manhunt.
Ward chair Dilip Chaudhary says the attackers were under the influence of alcohol.
