Kathmandu, July 21
Meteorologists at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology have claimed the rainfall will turn less severe from Wednesday onwards across Nepal though it will continue for the next few days.
In a press meet on Tuesday, the department’s director-general Saraju Kumar Baidya said the monsoon waves would gradually wane from the western side of the country tomorrow. However, Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati, and Gandaki would continue to be affected for the next few days.
According to the department officials, a low-pressure system has been created in the sky above Nepal since this Sunday, triggering incessant rainfall. The system is expected to move southward from this Friday.
The department says Gandaki, Province 5, and Province 2 received the highest amounts of rainfall in the past three days.
Nepal is expecting more rainfall this monsoon than it used o receive in the previous years.
