Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, has said the National Medical Education Act 2075 will remove anomalies prevalent in the sector.
Inaugurating an orientation programme on the National Medical Act, 2075, organised by the Commission on Medical Education, Pokharel stated that the act envisaged promoting capital investment in establishing medical education institutions in rural areas by ending the anomalies and aberrations in the private medical education.
He stressed on the need of research in medical education.
He said the Act emphasised mainly on service, teaching and learning, and research.
Reiterating the need of producing adequate numbers of human resources in the medical sector to meet the demand, Minister Pokharel said the medical industry could not only rely on private colleges.
He believed that the Act would address this issue.
