Maoist Centre not to withdraw support to govt before the weekend

A meeting of the CPN-Maoist Centre Standing Committee

Kathmandu, April 1

The CPN-Maoist Centre has decided not to support the withdraw extended to the KP Sharma Oli-led government before this weekend.

An informal meeting of the CPN-Maoist Centre held on Thursday morning concluded that a formal meeting of the committee to be held Saturday or Sunday would make a formal decision, informs the party’s Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

During the meeting today, top leaders had informed others of the recent talks held with other parties about the possibility of a coalition to form the new government. Likewise, they also analysed the latest political situation.

Shrestha says the meeting did not make any decision because other parties have not decided and the situation is not clear yet.

“But, we do not support this government, it is just that we are yet to write a letter,” Shrestha says, “We urge all parties to make their positions clear.”
