Mahottari: 19 Indians trying to cross border during lockdown detained

Nineteen Indian nationals have been detained in Mahottari district of southeastern Nepal on Monday morning after they were found to be trying to cross the border to their country defying lockdown restrictions on both sides.

Police arrested them at Bathanaha, Manara Siswa-9 of Mahottari district this morning, Armed Police Force SP Nirkrishna Adhikari says, adding they have already been released where they were working.

They were all from West Bengal of India and were recently working at a factory in Kolhuwa Bageya, Ekdara rural municipality-5 of the district. They told the police that they had decided to go back home as they ran short of food at the workplace.
