Lingden: People who threatened to kill me are linked to Jhapa politicians

Rajendra Lingden

Kathmandu, April 10

Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Rajendra Lingden has claimed that people who issued death threats to him were found to have connections with local political leaders of his district in Jhapa.

After police arrested two persons–Tilak Das Parajuli of Jhapa and Pradeep Roka of Humla–acting on a complaint filed by him, the lawmaker said the SIM card used to call him for the threat was also used to call local political leaders.

He, however, did not divulge names of such leaders, “I cannot mention the names publicly as the issue is being investigated by police.”

Lingden said police did not arrest them as they could find an easy way to get released by claiming that they also faced such threats.

Of the arrestees, Parajuli is facing multiple fraud charges in his home district. The phone number used to threaten the leader was registered with Roka’s name.
