RPP lawmaker Lingden complains of receiving death threats

Rajendra Lingden

Kathmandu, April 9

Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader Rajendra Lindgen has complained that he received a number of death threats from unidentified persons through phone and WhatsApp.

The member of the House of Representatives representing Jhapa-3 says a person threatened to kill him whereas another one told him to keep himself protected as he already paid a sum to the shooters to kill him.

According to the lawmaker, the person told him that Rs 5 million was sent to the shooter for the assignment.

After Lingden lodged a complaint with the police, the law enforcers arrested one suspect from his home district.

A preliminary investigation has concluded that the two voices belonged to the same person. However, others too might be involved in the crime and details will come out after the arrest of other suspects, according to police.
