Legislature-Parliament approves KP Sharma Oli government’s policies and programmes

The Parliament has passed KP Oli government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal 2073-74 with a majority.

On behalf of the government, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari had presented policies and programmes in the House five days ago. The House discussed the policies and programmes for four days.

After Prime Minister Oli responded to questions raised in the Parliament, the policies and programmes were presented for approval. A majority gave its all-clear with a voice vote.

The proposal, which CPN-UML chief whip Bhanubhakta proposed and UCPN-Maoist chief whip Hit Raj Pandey seconded, has thanked the President for presenting the government’s policies and programmes in the second session of the Legislature-Parliament.

The House rejected with a majority the proposal that Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramesh Lekhak had registered seeking changes in the policies and programmes. It also rejected amendment proposals coming from Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party lawmakers Prem Suwal and Anuradha Thapa Magar as well as Khumbuwan National Front Nepal lawmaker Ram Kumar Rai.
