Kathmandu, May 8
The KP Sharma Oli government is presenting its policies and programmes for the fiscal 2073-74 in the Parliament on Sunday.
On behalf of the government, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari will present the policies and programmes in the House at 4 pm, the Parliament Secretariat informed.
The secretariat has already made preparations for the same. After promulgation of the constitution through a popularly-elected Constituent Assembly, President is presenting government’s policies and programmes in the Parliament for the first time.
Lawmakers will discuss the policies and programmes for two days. Prime Minister Oli will respond to questions coming from them. The policies and programmes have prioritised agriculture, industry and tourism sectors.
The plan is to declare this decade (2016-26) the decade of economic growth. The policies and programmes focus on effective management of post-quake reconstruction. They have also given priority to the implementation of the constitution, apart from completion of the remaining works of the peace process. The government also plans to introduce some populist programmes.
