Kalikot, December 22
A person died during a clash between police personnel and retiring temporary cops in Manma of Kalikot district on Friday.
Bibek Aidi from Tikuwa, Sanni Triveni of the district, died in the incident after receiving bullets from police, according to Chief District Officer Badrinath Gairhe.
Injured in the incident, he had breathed his last at the District Hospital during treatment.
Earlier, the clash had ensured between police personnel and temporary cops after temporary cops accused police of depriving them of their salary. Temporary cops had pelted stones at police at first.
Police had baton-charged protesters and lobbed tear gas shells to contain the situation.
Some other persons also sustained injuries, according to local journalist Ratna Karki.
