Jhulaghat transit point closed for four days

Baitadi, November 22

The Jhulaghat transit point in Baitadi district bordering India is to be shut for four days from today.

The District Administration Office has said the transit point will remain closed from today until 5 pm on November 25. The checkpoint will be shut in view of the security sensitivity related to Legislative Assembly elections taking place in India.

Officiating Chief District Officer Lokendra Singh Negi says the border transit point, however, could be opened with mutual understanding in case of emergency during the period it remains shut.

In the recent past, Jhulaghat transit was closed for three days from October 3 to 5 during the District Panchayat and Gram Panchayat elections in Pithoragadh district of India.
