Indian Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday.
The President’s Office says various issues related to bilateral relations and mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. Indian ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri and other Indian officials had also gone to the Sheetal Niwas along with Jaishankar.
Earlier this morning, the minister visited the Pashupatinath Temple and offered puja. He also planted a parijat (night-flowering jasmine) outside the main temple premises.
He had spent around 30 minutes in the area, according to Pashupati Area Development Trust’s Member-Secretary Pradeep Dhakal.
After concluding the meeting of Nepal-India Joint Commission that began yesterday, Jaishankar is scheduled to return to New Delhi after 3 pm today.
