Kathmandu, January 2

The Investment Board Nepal is preparing to carry out a feasibility study for the integrated waste management plan for 66 local units across the country.

The Board has divided the units into 13 sectors for the study.

Recently, the Board has issued a letter to the local units, seeking cooperation for the feasibility study. Likewise, it has also written to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration for needful coordination.

Once the local governments respond to the letter, the Board will begin the study, according to the Board spokesperson Uttam Bhakta Wagle.

“At first, we will carry out the study. Then, we will take further decisions based on which places will be possible for waste management.”

Meanwhile, the integrated waste management development plan of local units in the Kathmandu Valley is still in limbo.
