Indian, Chinese envoys express concerns about poll preparation with PM

Kathmandu, June 16

Ambassadors of India and China to Nepal have held separate meetings with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday.

Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri and Chinese Yu Hong expressed their concerns about preparations for the second phase of polls scheduled for June 28 and postponement of elections in Province 2.

In response, Deuba had said the government was making efforts to ensure participation of all political forces in the elections.

Both the envoys had formally called on Deuba for the first time today after his election to the top post on June 6.

Issues of bilateral relations were also discussed during the meeting.
