Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has pledged to ensure that relief supplies are delivered to disaster-affected people without delay. Gurung committed during a meeting with leaders including Nepal Communist Party leader Barshaman Pun, according to Pun’s secretariat.
Pun is currently conducting an on-site inspection of the Bidur area of Nuwakot, which was damaged by flooding in the Bhotekoshi River. During the inspection, Pun met with Home Minister Gurung and urged him to expedite the search and rescue of all people who remain missing in the Rasuwagadhi area.
He also urged the minister to immediately ascertain the whereabouts of missing people, including 21 residents of Rolpa, and make search and rescue efforts more effective. Pun also drew the home minister’s attention to the fact that although a substantial amount of relief materials donated by various organisations and individuals had been collected, they had not been distributed effectively.
In response, Gurung pledged to ensure the immediate delivery of relief supplies to affected people, according to Pun’s secretariat. Gurung also said he had instructed the concerned authorities to distribute the relief materials under the leadership of the District Coordination Committee so that they reach affected people without delay.
