Kathmandu, August 13
Heavy rainfall in Bardiya has inundated various parts of the district.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said some parts of the district have seen around 226.6 mm of rain over the last 24 hours.
With heavy rain falling continuously, the district has been at high risk for floods. Some villages in the area are already inundated after a flood in a local stream.
Ward number 8 in Bardiya has been heavily affected said ward chair Nar Bahadur Chand. He said police and locals were carrying our rescue efforts in the area.
Due to sudden floods in three rivers and streams, the stakeholders have asked locals to stay alert as flooding could occur at any moment.
