Gulmi landslides: Death toll rises to 10

The death toll in two landslides in Satyawati rural municipality of Gulmi district in western Nepal has reached 10, confirms Chief District Officer Yadu Nath Paudel.

Eight people died in Limgha of ward 4 and two in Thulo Lumpek of ward 3.

Six bodies have been taken out of the debris whereas police are working to collect the remaining bodies.

Those killed in Limgha are members of the same family. They have been identified as Chhalli BK, Pampha BK, Anjali BK, Hemanta BK, Rupa BK, Siwani BK, Nirmala BK, and Himansu BK. Likewise, Til Kumari Trapu and Darshan Trapu died in Thulo Lumpek.

Two others are injured and two are missing.

Police say the toll might rise further as the landslides affected other families also.
