Six killed, two injured in Gulmi landslides

At least six persons died and two others sustained injuries in different incidents of landslide in Gulmi district of western Nepal on Tuesday morning.

Chief District Officer Yadu Nath Paudel confirms that the deaths were reported from wards 3 and 4 of Satyawati rural municipality.

Til Kumari Tramu, 32, and Darshan Tramu, 9, died after a landslide in Kasin Danda, Satyawati-3 buried their house, according to Paudel.

Likewise, the victims in Limgha, Satyawati-4, have been identified as Chhallali BK, 65, Pampha BK, 28, Anjali BK, 12, and Hemanta BK, 10.

Police say they were asleep when the landslide buried their house in the wee hours today.

Karishma Tramu, 10, and Dhani Tramu, 13, are injured.

CDO Paudel says personnel of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army have been sent to the incident site. They, however, are yet to reach there due to incessant rainfall and landslides.

The incident site is close to the border with Syangja.
