Kathmandu, November 14
A law is being formulated to make sure that the government pays Rs 1 million to the family of a civil servant if s/he dies while carrying out the assigned duty. The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee in the House of Representatives decided to include this provision in the civil service law being drafted.
Likewise, the committee decided to give Rs 500,000 to the family of a civil servant if the employee dies before retirement.
Before this, such provision was not included in the concerned act. However, the government was providing support to the families of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the committee decided to bar polygamous civil servants from pension facilities.
