
Kathmandu, August 18
The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives has summoned officials of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for discussions on the commission’s work and other related issues.
According to the committee secretariat, a meeting has been scheduled for 11 am on Thursday at the committee meeting hall in Singha Durbar.
The discussion will focus on issues raised in the CIAA’s annual report as well as the commission’s activities and performance.
The CIAA’s annual report was tabled in the House of Representatives on July 9.
On that day, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam had tabled the 35th Annual Report of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority for fiscal year 2024/25 on behalf of Prime Minister Balen Shah.
The committee secretariat said CIAA officials have been invited to discuss the issues highlighted in the annual report and matters concerning the commission’s overall functioning.
