Kathmandu, February 26

Minister for Children, Women and Senior Citizens, Tham Maya Thapa, has said the incumbent government is sensitive to issues of children and youth as they are directly related to sustainable development goals.

She says children and youth should be aware of their duties towards the society and country while exercising their rights.

Inaugurating a partnership meeting organised by TDH Germany in Lalitpur on Tuesday, the Minister said the government would cooperate with national and international nongovernment organisations to work for children, youth and sustainable development.

The three day event will discuss various issues on youth and children, and their relationships with environment and entrepreneurship.

Delegates representing nongovernment organisations of Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan have attended the event.

The event will conclude issuing a Kathmandu declaration, according to TDH Germany’s Nepal country director Shyam Shrestha.
