Govt identifies 125 passengers who travelled with Nepal’s only Covid-19 patient

The government says it has identified that as many as 158 people travelled from Doha to Kathmandu along with a 19-year-old Nepali student who recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Of them, 125 are contacted for the test and quarantine at home. Efforts are underway to contact others, informs the Ministry of Health.

After learning that she travelled on a Qatar Airways flight, the government had asked the company to provide the details of the passengers. Then, the ministry forwarded the details to the Nepal Police Headquarters to contact them for the test.

The company had carried out three flights from Doha to Kathmandu that day, and the lady was on the flight QR652. Though the passengers who travelled on two other flights also got terrorised with the news, the officials say they do not need to panic.

However, because they came hope from the countries with infection cases recently, they also need to stay in self-isolation and visit a hospital if they witness and problem.

Meanwhile, the infected lady is undergoing treatment at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku of Kathmandu.
