Kathmandu, March 31

The Herald College, Kathmandu, organised various events from March 21 to March 27 to celebrate Global Money Week (GMW) 2022 with the theme “Build Your Future, Be Smart About Money”.

The week-long celebration included lectures from guest speakers,  according to the college.

The speakers include Sudarshan Sapkota (Siddhartha Bank Limited), Durgananda Jha (Prabhu Capital Limited), Suresh Neupane (CDS and Clearing Limited), Pramod Man Singh Basnet (IME Digital Solution Limited), Prakash Koirala (a financial literacy campaigner and Nepal’s Forbes 30 under 30 nominee) and Aditi Adhikari (consulting researcher and education policy professional).

Alongside the lectures, the students took part in video contests, quiz competitions and poster presentations, all focusing on the aforementioned theme of the week.

The college says the events provided the students with an opportunity to raise their financial awareness, acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for making sound financial decisions, and build networks with some of the leading figures in the industry.

The Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual global awareness-raising campaign on the importance of ensuring that young people, from an early age, are financially aware, and are gradually acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours necessary to make sound financial decisions.
