Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday has appointed former ambassador Dinesh Bhattarai as his foreign affairs advisor.

A Cabinet meeting held this morning made the appointment in its first step to form Deuba’s secretariat.

Bhattarai had worked in the same position during the premiership of former Nepali Congress President Sushila Koirala in 2014-15.

Before that, Bhattarai had served as Nepal’s Ambassador to Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the meeting also appointed journalist Govinda Pariyar as the press coordinator to the Prime Minister.
