
Kathmandu, June 4
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is set to leave for India on Friday for a three-day official visit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday issued a press release making public the official itinerary of Minister Khanal’s visit.
The visit, scheduled from June 5 to 7, comes at the cordial invitation of India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
During the visit, Minister Khanal will hold formal bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart, Dr Jaishankar, in New Delhi. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will focus on a range of issues of mutual interest to Nepal and India.
The agenda includes detailed discussions on strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, the energy sector, and people-to-people relations.
The ministry expressed confidence that the visit, which forms part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries, will further deepen and strengthen the diplomatic, historical, and multidimensional bilateral relationship between Nepal and India.
According to the itinerary, Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 7.
