Kathmandu, January 24
Organisers of the Dhangadhi Premier League Cricket have announced six ‘strategic players’, one for each participating team, today.
Each of these players will get at least Rs 200,000 for the tournament. Other players of the teams will be selected through auction on February 21, according to the Dhangadhi Cricket Academy.
The strategic players announced today are Paras Khadka for Biratnagar Kings, Gyanendra Malla for Kathmandu Goldens, Dipendra Singh Airee for CYC Attariya, Binod Bhandari for Mahendranagar United, Shakti Gauchan for Rupandehi Challengers and Sompal Kami for Team Chauraha Dhangadhi.
While five other teams are same from the last year, Kanchanpur Iconic have been replaced by Mahendranagar United this time.
The second edition of DPL will begin on March 31.
The winning team will get a cash prize of Rs 2.5 million whereas the first, second and third runners-up will get Rs 1 million, Rs 300,000 and Rs 200,000 respectively.
In the first edition of the tournament last year, the winners were provided with Rs 1.5 million.
Each man of the match will get Rs 10,000 cash prize whereas the man of the series will get a motorbike.
