Kathmandu, December 3

Poverty Alleviation Fund, which is currently dormant for the lack of funding, has expressed concerns over the projects that it was running in the past.

After the World Bank stopped funding the fund, the government had assigned concerned local governments to continue the PAF projects. Now, the fund wants the government to collect progress reports from the local governments.

The fund recently sent its request to the government to collect reports via concerned district coordination committees.

The PAF projects were in operation in 551 local units of 64 districts till the last year. The fund’s executive director Chhabi Rijal says the projects were supporting local communities in development, employment generation, income generation and social mobilisation.

The fund had partnered with 32,276 community organisations to run a total of 5,661 projects.
