Amid rising tensions in the Middle East that have disrupted international air travel, flights between Doha and Kathmandu are set to continue operating.
According to the schedule released by Qatar’s national carrier Qatar Airways, flights from Doha to Kathmandu will operate on March 16 and 17. Likewise, flights from Kathmandu to Doha are scheduled for March 17 and 18.
Passengers travelling from Nepal to Qatar or those transiting through Doha to other international destinations will be able to use these flights.
Along with Kathmandu, Qatar Airways is also operating special flights to several Asian and international destinations, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Dhaka, Bangkok, Istanbul, London, and Paris.
As tensions escalate in the Middle East, several countries have taken precautionary measures in their airspace, leading to the cancellation or rerouting of some flights. In this context, the continuation of air connectivity between Doha and Kathmandu is being viewed positively despite the challenges in flight operations caused by regional instability.
Since Doha is one of the world’s major transit hubs, the continuation of these flights is expected to play an important role for passengers travelling to and from Nepal.
Many international travellers pass through Hamad International Airport in Doha when travelling to destinations around the world. Nepali migrant workers also commonly use this route.
In particular, flights between Doha and Kathmandu are considered crucial for Nepali migrant workers in the Middle East, passengers returning to Nepal, and students travelling abroad. Maintaining the flight schedule is therefore expected to make travel arrangements easier for passengers.
The airline has urged passengers to regularly check for updates about their flights through its official website, mobile app, or travel agencies. Due to the evolving security situation and changing air routes, flight schedules may be subject to change, and travellers are advised to confirm details before departure.
