Qatar Airways aircraft grounded in Kathmandu after pilot spots feather

Kathmandu, September 1

An aircraft of Qatar Airways has been grounded at Kathmandu airport after its pilot spotted a feather of a bird in the right engine.

The aircraft was safely landed at around 9 am today, however, the feather was noticed while it was at the parking area later, according to an official of the Tribhuvan International Airport.

After finding out the feather, the pilot said flying the aircraft would be risking. Subsequently, the airline company has summoned an engineering team from Qatar.

The team would arrive in Kathmandu this afternoon to check the aircraft. The aeroplane will be flown only after the investigation.
