
The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has updated its information on the timing and affected districts of today’s incoming storm system.
According to a special bulletin issued by the department at 8 am today, severe storms are expected to begin at 4 pm.
The storm is likely to affect Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, and Doti districts in Sudurpashchim Province, along with surrounding areas.
Similarly, Bardiya, Banke, Dang, Arghakhanchi, and Parasi districts in Lumbini Province are also expected to be impacted.
Nawalpur in Gandaki Province and areas around Chitwan in Bagmati Province may also be affected.
The department has also warned that Bara, Parsa, and Dhanusha districts in Madhesh Province, as well as neighbouring areas, could face storm conditions.
In Koshi Province, residents of Jhapa, Morang, and surrounding districts have been urged to take precautions as strong storm activity is likely there as well.
The department has also revised its predicted timing. The updated alert states that intense storm winds will begin at 4 PM today and subside by 6:45 am Thursday. On Tuesday, the department had forecast that the storm would begin at 5:45 pm on May 29 and end by 7:45 AM on May 30.
Along with the storm, a weather system bringing thunder, lightning, and hail is expected to move from west to east across the country.
The department has urged everyone to remain alert, as the impact is expected to be felt across many parts of the country.
