Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has assured that the current ruling coalition will try to amend the constitution so as to make it acceptable to all after garnering required two-third majority once again.

Deuba’s statement comes few days after Parliament rejected the amendment proposal tabled by the government.

Addressing a joint press conference with Indian PM Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi this afternoon, the Prime Minister said the government was trying to make the constitution acceptable to people from all regions of the country and implement it effectively.

Before Deuba, Modi had addressed the conference, extending congratulations to Nepal for successfully holding two phases of local level elections and wishing that the neighbour would move ahead by making the constitution more acceptable.

Meanwhile, the two Prime Ministers have expressed commitment for expediting bilateral cooperation projects including Pancheshwor. Indian PM Modi shared that a detail project report of Pancheshwor would be finalised within one year.

Likewise, they have also shared that the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and coordination mechanisms on control and management of border-side dams and barrages.
