Dang: 4 killed as flooded river washes away a car

Ghorahi, September 2

Four persons died when a flooded river washed away a car in Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city-4 of the Dang district in Lumbini on Wednesday night.

The car (Province 3-01-24 Cha 4440) was coming towards Ghorahi from Nepalgunj of the Banke district when it was swept away by the flooded Sisne Khola at Gogli, Ghaorahi.

The victims have been identified as Sushila Shrestha (32) and Rita Maya Pun (40) from Ghorahi-13 and Radha Kunwar (29) and Bimala KC (40) from Ghorahi-14, informs the District Police Office spokesperson Mukunda Prasad Rijal.

Nara Bahadur Pun (43), a resident of Ghorahi-15, was behind the wheel during the accident and he is injured. With a leg broken, he is undergoing treatment at the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences.

He was rescued around 1.5 km away downstream, in Belbhar, Ghorahi-17 of the district.
