Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged people to join in the rescue, relief and safety of those affected by the Budhigandaki flood.
The flash flood in the Budhigandaki River in Gorkha district has caused extensive physical damage. The flood, which came with black silt, has damaged permanent bridges, suspension bridges, houses and market areas.
Areas including Chumnubri, Dharche and Arughat have suffered damage, with bridges and houses washed away.
Writing about the situation on social media, Prachanda urged people to take part in rescue, relief and safety efforts for those affected.
“I sincerely urge everyone to join in the rescue, relief and safety of the affected citizens. I also request citizens living from the Budhigandaki to the banks of the Trishuli to stay safe with utmost caution,” he wrote on social media. “Let us unite in support of the affected citizens in this hour of disaster.”
