The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to register a writ brought by Rastriya Janata Party senior leader Sarvendra Nath Shukla demanding demanding that separate ballot papers be used for elections of House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

The Court’s Acting Registrar Mahendra Nath Upadhyaya says the Court refused to register the writ as the petitioner failed to submit a copy of the decision of Election Commission about holding the two elections together and using the same ballot paper.

Shukla had demanded that total four ballot papers be used for proportional representation and first-past-the-post election systems under federal House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections.
