CIAA commissioner Joshi resigns ‘protesting Rai’s appointment’

Ganesh Raj Joshi

Kathmandu, February 3

Ganesh Raj Joshi, who had been working as the acting chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority since the retirement of incumbent Nabin Kumar Ghimire, has resigned.

Although Joshi has not mentioned clearly in his resignation, it has been learned that he quit protesting Prem Kumar Rai’s appointment as the chief of the commission.

Joshi has been claiming that he was senior to Rai when they were in the civil service, but Rai got the senior position due to his closeness with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

He was not present when Rai assumed his office this morning.
