Six people put at risk by the flood in the Budhigandaki River have been rescued by air.
Prime Minister Balen Shah announced the rescue of six people from the flood and landslide risk zone in a Facebook post this morning.
“Following the flood in the Budhigandaki River, Nepali Army personnel have been deployed by air and by land for search and rescue, and six people have been airlifted from the Jagat area, which is at risk of landslides,” Prime Minister Shah wrote. “A Composite Quick Reaction Team based in Kathmandu has also been deployed to the area by air.”
He said helicopters have been mobilised for rescue, relief and safe relocation in the Budhigandaki-affected areas.
