Kathmandu, January 1
Bibeksheel Sajha Party has urged Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to facilitate the process of smooth government change, questioning if he is trying to prolong his stay in power.
In a statement, the party has expressed concerns over various long-term decisions taken by the caretaker government.
“Instead of creating an environment (to handover the power),” the statement reads, “The government is paying attention to decisions of long-term impacts and appointing or promoting staff. Therefore, questions have been raised if there is a ploy to prolong the current government.”
Meanwhile, the party says political parties should not drag the President into any controversy. It has also expressed dissatisfaction over the act of President to seek suggestions from people outside those assigned by the constitution.
The party stresses that eminent persons should be elected to the National Assembly.
