Biratnagar, May 19
The Province 1 government, the federal government and the Asian Development Bank have signed an agreement to prepare a detailed project report for the provincial government’s plan to construct urban corridors in the province.
According to the agreement signed in presence of federal Minister for Urban Development Mohammad Istiyak Rai, the the ADB will prepare the DPR within next one year.
The provincial government plans to connect Rani of Biratnagar with Dharan of Sunsari and Kakarbhitta of Jhapa with Bhantabari of Sunsari via urban corridors.
Meanwhile, the provincial government also appealed to the ADB to begin construction works simultaneously while preparing the report, according to Provincial Planning Commission’s Vice Chairman Subodh Raj Pyakurel.
The government has proposed that the ADB would provide 40 per cent investment as a grant, but the ADB is not decided yet.
However, the ADb has already provide a loan for the project.
