In response to the devastating flood in Nepal, the Australian government is set to send rescue and humanitarian assistance supplies.
Australia’s Department of Defence has announced it will send a Royal Australian Air Force C-17A Globemaster III aircraft carrying relief supplies, equipment, and personnel to Nepal.
The Foreign Ministry has stated that this assistance is being provided as part of a coordinated response by the entire Australian government to the disaster Nepal is currently facing.
The Australian Defence Force is providing the transport aircraft in support of the country’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
According to details released by the Department of Defence, the aircraft, carrying humanitarian aid and disaster relief supplies, necessary equipment, and personnel, will depart from Australia for Nepal within the next few days.
